How
to go to jail 101
Lesson 2 web posted January 18, 2006 JOHNSTON – As EdgefieldDaily.com pours over dozens of police reports a day one thing stands out in many cases; having a warrant for your arrest and/or a total disrespect for law enforcement must lower the IQ of most offenders 50 or 60 points. Such was the case stemming from a call to Johnston Police regarding a custody matter. Arriving on the scene of the Academy Street home was Johnston Police Officer Lamaz Robinson around 7:00 pm Friday evening. As the old saying goes, it all went downhill from there. Officer Robinson resolved the issue of a custody argument between an unwed couple, by South Carolina state law if the parties are not married and have not addressed the court over custody, the child is said to be in the custody of the biological mother. The father of the child stated the, “law is F-ed up.” After a brief argument, the matter was resolved, or so Officer Robinson thought. The man then went outside where the complainant was and began arguing with him. A short time later several family members gathered around along with young children in tow. The man continued to become, “more outrageous,” and yelling profanity. Officer Robinson asked the man several times to stop yelling profanities to which he replied, “F all this bull (manure)”, which resulted in Willie James Brown, 39, of Academy Street, Johnston arrest for breach of peace. Alas, our story does not end there. The complainant had to continue his own verbal tirade, which escalated on Mr. Brown being placed in custody. He started loudly stating “who the F- do this (MF) n’word suppose to be.” Officer Robinson asked the man for his identification and found Stanley Lee Mason, 42, of Batesburg, had outstanding warrants for his arrest from Saluda County. He, too, was summarily arrested and transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center. For
