Here's Your Card: The Learning Curve

web posted February 1, 2014

HERE'S YOUR CARD There is an old saying that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. That certainly holds true in our latest nomination for a Here's Your Card recipient, 39-year-old Adrian Lemont Nance, of Trenton. An Edgefield County Sheriff's Deputy spotted Nance driving a green 1994 Buick with what appeared to be an "old tag" on Hwy 25 late Thursday night. A check of the plate showed it expired in 2009 and the deputy conducted a traffic stop. Things went downhill from there.

When the deputy approached the vehicle Nance informed the deputy that his drivers license was suspended and he had no insurance on the car. That was confirmed through a records check. In addition, this was at least the third time Nance had been found to be driving under suspension and without any insurance.

It was also found that Nance had five outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Nance was taken into custody and then transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of driving under suspension third or more offenses, driving uninsured third or more offenses, failure to register vehicle, improper tag display, receiving stolen goods and other charges.

As of Friday he remained in custody with nearly $10,000 in cash bonds.

A check of local court records showed a litany of traffic offenses.
