Here’s Your Card: Help, my car has been stolen

web posted July 15, 2008
HERE’S YOUR CARD – Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to a stolen car from Deer Springs Road in Merriwether around 7 pm Friday night. Dispatchers informed deputies to be on the look out for a white 1998 Pontiac Grand Am that had just been stolen and could still be in the area. The owner told dispatchers he took a nap for a few minutes and came out to cut the grass and the car was gone.

Before the deputy could arrive on the scene he was informed the owner had located the car at a neighbor’s house. When the deputy arrived he spoke with the Deer Springs man, who reports indicate was intoxicated, and was told that the owner had been playing golf and parked at his neighbor’s house and then later walked home. After his nap he went outside to cut the grass, did not see the car, and called to report the car stolen.

The line in the incident report that makes our Deer Springs Road resident a Here’s Your Card winner?  – “Due to (his) gross intoxication he forgot he left his vehicle at his neighbor’s house.”
