 The INsider It is all over but the fat lady singing web posted September 21, 2006 The INsider – Fox Creek High School is said to be on the verge, or over the verge, of total economic collapse. Robbing Peter to pay Paul and too many trips to the well have paved the way for the school to be forced to close. Scott Chitty, working to salvage his school (though he is supposed to represent the entire Merriwether District), and FCHS board chairperson Sherolyn Bishop have formulated a failed plan to have the Edgefield County School District to take over the failed school. Not so fast, the School District cannot assume a debt, and the FCHS is without question a huge debt, without voter approval. Fat chance getting county voters to support an all white (private) public school funded by our tax dollars. FCHS officials have been required to attend a School Board meeting on October 24 with financial statements in hand. This will be fun to watch. In the past Mrs. Bishop has cancelled at least three requests to appear. For
