JET's Got Talent winners

JOHNSTON – J-E-T Middle School hosted its first annual talent show J-E-T’s got Talent on Thursday and Friday, March 5 and 6.  Mrs. Alicia Martin served as the program’s emcee. The two day event ended on Friday night with the winners retaking the stage to claim their awards.
    
Participating students auditioned, and sixteen individuals and groups were selected to participate. Thursday night’s performers included Leigh Northrop, Jakob Kemp, Bailey Pedersen, Spencer Moore, Antonia Adams, Kristal Herrin, Brianna Locklair, Kayce Locklair, Kylee McCurdy, Delshawn Wardlaw, Leah Settles, Tyniah West, DeAngleo Johnson, Isaiah Gordon, Johnathan Quarles, Keith Dumais, Hannah Sexton, Octavia Valentine, Jenna Redman, Micah Goforth, Shamone Chandler, Hailey Prescott, Maggie Figeroa, and Kayla McElhaney. The top eight finalists or groups moved on to Friday night’s competition.
    
The overall winners (L to R back to front) were in third place, Octavia Valentine (Tavi V) and Micha Goforth and Jenna Redman (Sisters in Christ); in second place,  DeAngleo Johnson and Isaiah Gordon (N 2 Deep); and in first place, Leigh Northrop, Jakob Kemp,  Bailey Pedersen, and Spencer Moore (Southern Cross Band). 

Other performers who competed in Friday night’s round were Antonia Adams, Brianna Locklair, Kayce Locklair, Jonathan Quarles, and Maggie Figueroa.  Stephen Hampton, JET’s principal, provided additional entertainment.
     
The APEX committee will use the proceeds from JET’s got Talent for school improvements. Thank you to the school and community for your support.
