Windows Into JET” Literary Book Dedicated to Virginia Culbertson at
annual Young Authors’ Night

JOHNSTON – Mrs.
Virginia Culbertson was
overwhelmed with surprise at the annual Young Authors’ Night Program at
JET Middle School when the announcement was made that the literary
publication of the school, “Windows Into JET” has been dedicated to
her. The announcement was made by English teacher Cindy Ellis.
The evening featured students reading their essays to guests in
celebration of outstanding writing skills. Readers were: Amber Coursey,
Reed Covar, Alisha Hillis, Brianna Santiago, Melvin Jackson, Marian
Wettstone, Meryl Prince, Shadoe Taylor, Freteia Williams, Christian
Speight, Daniel Human, Ebony Johnston, Octavia Ethridge, Jake Goforth,
Natalie Stevens, Kaeli Wates, Fantasia Holloway, Jasmine Pollard, April
Maynor, Shanasha Gray, Miranda Deese, Tanika O’Conner, Sally Mickelsen,
Cody Clester, Antonio Jones and Brandi Jackson.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cake and punch. The Language
Arts Department at JET Middle School helps to coordinate this event.
