“Spirit Week” a success at JET Middle School

web posted October 31, 2007
JOHNSTON – Spirit week was four days of fun and excitement as JET Middle School anticipated playing their rival Merriwether Middle on Thursday afternoon. Faculty and students were willing to show that Eagle spirit by dressing up. Spirit days were organized by the cheerleaders and their sponsors Jill Cockrell and Jessica Johnson:

Monday- Wacky Tacky Day
Tuesday- Blast from the Past Day
Wednesday- Hawaiian Day
Thursday- Blue and White Day

Our spirit week culminated with a Pep Rally during the last part of the day. That Eagle Spirit was large and in charge as the band played and our cheerleaders cheered. JETs volleyball team, coached by Betty Edwards, was recognized for an undefeated season. JETs football team, coached by William Reynolds and Victor Love, rounded out their season with a win over Merriwether. Student and faculty members chosen during the week as “Most Spirited,” were awarded (2) free cookies from JETs Cookie Corner at the Pep Rally.

Fun was had by all! Drop by sometimes and get a feel for that JET Eagle pride!
