 Worker Severely Injured at Recycling Company web posted January 4, 2013 JONSTON – An employee at Ridge Recycling was seriously injured Thursday night and a request for a helicopter to transport the victim to the Trauma Center in Augusta was unavailable by the two providers either for weather conditions or unavailability. According to available information, the worker's arm was nearly severed in the mishap. Details on how the injury was received are incomplete at 10:36 pm Thursday. One source states that the worker removed a guard and reached inside a conveyor belt when the accident took place. That report has not been confirmed officially. Due to the lack of air support transportation, the injured worker was transported by ambulance and was considered to be in very serious condition. The worker's arm was said to have been all but amputated in the accident.
