Strom Thurmond offers free clinic for youth league baseball coaches web posted January 28, 2009 JOHNSTON – Strom Thurmond Head Baseball Coach Brent Wilder and the entire Thurmond Varsity Coaching staff will be holding a free baseball clinic for local youth league coaches on Saturday, February 28, 10 am until 11:30 am. Among the areas to be covered are the fundamentals of Hitting, Fielding, Pitching, and Practice Organization. Coach Wilder said the clinic is a way to assist youth league coaches, “in an effort to bridge the gap between little league and high school baseball in the area”. The function will be held on the Strom Thurmond Baseball Field. Coaches will receive handouts of all information and refreshments will be provided.
