STCTC’s First EKG Class Has 100% Pass Rate

web posted February 5, 2019

020519stctcJOHNSTON - STCTC (Strom Thurmond Career and Technology Center) began offering an Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician course this school year. The students had classroom instruction and hands-on experience performing EKGs.  At the end of the course the students had to have completed a set number of EKGs and then take a written certification exam.

Robin Herrin, instructor, stated, “I am beyond proud of the hard work and dedication that this group has shown. I was ecstatic when they all passed the Certification Exam. The certification gives them the ability to go straight into the workforce or to work and gain experience as they continue their education.”

The certificate will be preliminary until graduation and then will become a full certification, however, they can now use the credentials CET behind their name.
