Two Arrested During Manhunt for Robbery Suspect

web posted February 6, 2013

JOHNSTON – Two men were arrested during a manhunt for a suspect in the recent strong armed robbery of the Johnston Dollar General. Though Sheriff's Deputies and Johnston Police were unable to locate the suspect, a man who ran as soon as he saw patrol cars was found and arrested for drug possession and trespassing. Timothy Hill, 19, (left) was found hiding in an abandoned building clearly marked no trespassing.

Police were also able to recover a small amount of marijuana Hill had with him at the time. He was transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center and booked into custody.

A second man who approached officers doing interviews became irate and cursing loudly. After being told to quiet down several times he was arrested for disorderly conduct and appeared to be intoxicated.

He was identified as Bernard Anderson, 46, (left) of Johnston.

A third man was issued a ticket for trespassing and officers recovered a plastic bag from him containing a white powder. The substance will be tested and if it comes back positive for drugs an arrest warrant will be issued for his arrest. He was not identified on the scene.
