Man Flown to Trauma Center after Jumping from Vehicle

web posted February 8, 2013

JOHNSTON – A day later, very few details of a man reportedly jumping out of a moving vehicle Wednesday night have yet to be released. According to information gathered from sources by Edgefield Daily, the man suffered multiple injuries and the first officer on the scene reported, "Blood all over the road".

The incident took place just after 8 pm near the intersection of Ridge Road and Highway 121 in Johnston. When the first officer arrived he radioed dispatch to tell the EMS unit to hurry and asked for First Responders due to the man's condition.

A helicopter transport was requested around 8:16 pm. The Johnston Fire Department set up a landing zone for the man to be transferred from the ambulance to the chopper. He was flown to the MCG Trauma Center in Augusta for treatment.

His condition at the time of transport was considered serious, though no further updates on his condition are available.

Information on how the incident took place has not been released by the Johnston Police Department as of Thursday. It is hoped an incident report will be available today. As soon as more information is made available, Edgefield Daily will have an update.
