$17,000 in materials and trailer stolen web posted March 17, 2009 JOHNSTON – A Johnston man reported the theft of a $7,000 trailer from Old Plank Road that was loaded with an estimated $10,000 in lumber and tin over the weekend. The trailer and building materials were last seen on the property on Wednesday and was discovered missing on Saturday. According to incident reports, the person or persons responsible for the theft removed a gate to the property from its hinges to gain entry. The red trailer, described as having 16-inch rims and wheels, was loaded with approximately $5,000 in assorted lumber and roughly $5,000 in tin materials. The owner was unable to provide deputies with identification numbers for the trailer at the time of the incident but the description was passed on as a BOLO (be on the look out) to surrounding agencies and road patrols. The case is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Investigative Division. © Copyright 2009
