Johnston business victim of burglary, grand larceny web posted March 27, 2007 JOHNSTON – Johnston Police are investigating a burglary and grand larceny of an auto repair shop on the 300 block of Lee Street that occurred on Friday morning. An officer was flagged down by a man that informed the officer of the break in. Upon arriving on the scene police found a door to the business was damaged and opened. Over $3,000 worth of goods were discovered missing. Reported missing from the business was a 4-tom floor jack belonging to the business and two tires and rims belonging to the owner of a car that was parked at the business for repairs. The two tires and rims, listed as 225/40R18 Nexen Radial Tires and Cabo 18 inch rims, were missing from inside the business. The tires and rims were left on the floor of the business the previous day. The tires and rims were listed at a value of $3,000. There was no listing on the value to the floor jack. No suspects were listed in police reports. The case has been turned over to the Johnston Police Department Investigator. Johnston has seen a string of recent burglaries to local businesses. Johnston Police solved two recent burglaries with the arrest of four juveniles within days of the crimes last week. For
