 Johnston Farmer suffers major loss in labor camp housing facility due to burglary web posted March 28, 2008 JOHNSTON – A burglary of a labor camp has left one local farmer with a loss of almost $8,000 in stolen goods and damage to a worker housing facility. The theft, believed to have occurred recently found over 40 beds stolen and over a dozen doors damaged in the process. The labor camp, located in the area of Holmes Pond Road and Airport Road found 43 single beds removed from the location and at least 18 doors damaged in the process. Copper tubing was also taken from the kitchen area which can be turned into quick cash by selling the material at scrap yards. Forty-three beds, valued at $50 each, were removed from the location over the last few weeks. Almost two dozen doors, valued at $30 apiece, were also damaged. The case has been turned over to investigators for follow-up. No suspects were listed on incident reports. ©
