Murray announces candidacy with slogan, Fairness for All at Town Hall

web posted March 29, 2010
JOHNSTON – Bryan Murray, candidate for Johnston Town Council Ward 2, made his initial release on his candidacy this week with the slogan, Fairness for All at Town Hall. His introduction letter spells out who he is and why he is running for elected office.

My name is Bryan Murray. I am running for the Ward 2 Seat in the Johnston Town Council. I’ve been a resident of Johnston, SC for about 20 years. I have lived on Calhoun Street for 15 years.

Some of you may know me through my business and the type of work that I do. I’ve been a licensed sub-contractor in the Town of Johnston for 15 years. My interest in the position grew after having to personally deal with the town council in the past few years. I’ve had to approach them about some pressing issues in the past so that I could follow town ordinance and deal with anything that had to do with my residence, in a lawful manner. On some occasions they have presented me the correct solutions to my problems, but on other occasions, I felt that things weren’t done in a manner that could have helped me.

Because my problems were not solved, the thought of becoming a candidate for this seat was a possibility for me. I feel that running for this position; I could help my fellow citizens because I know how it feels to deal with the ordinance and town laws that aren’t exactly helpful to those that it serves. My personal experience will give me the ability to serve my fellow citizens better because I was once in the same boat and I hope that you would allow me to use this position to make our town a better place to reside.

Please, remember to Vote on Tuesday April 6th.
