Rushton announces candidacy for District 3 County Council seat
web
posted March 31, 2008
JOHNSTON – James
“Jamie” Rushton Jr. has
announced his candidacy for the District 3 County Council seat which
encompasses Johnston and part of Trenton. “My decision to run for the
County Council Seat in District 3 was made after many hours of prayer
and conversations with family and friends,” Mr. Rushton said.
Mr. Rushton said, “I intend to put my handprint on every door in the
district,” as he begins his campaign in earnest. “I intend to win.”
Rushton has filed as a Democrat on the ballot.
“I have spent the last twelve years rebuilding America’s highways and
bridges, and I would like to spend my time in office rebuilding
Edgefield County,” Mr. Rushton said. “It is time for a change, the fine
people of Edgefield County are ready for change, and I’d like to be a
part of making that happen.”
Mr. Rushton said he would be announcing an upcoming gathering to meet
citizens in the very near future.
