The New Face of Johnston: Culbreath Wins in Near Landslide

web posted April 9, 2014

JOHNSTON First term Johnston Mayor Andy Livingston was shown the door in his re-election bid Tuesday night when he lost the election by a near 2 to 1 margin. According to unofficial results, newly elected Town Councilman Terrance Culbreath received 410 votes to Livingston's 229, or a 64% advantage.

Culbreath is the fourth mayor elected in the past four terms. Incumbent Mayor Dean Campbell was unseated in a similar election by Mayor Willie Campbell in 2006. He was defeated by Livingston in 2010, who has now been defeated by Culbreath.

Livingston will turn over the gavel at the May Town Council meeting when Culbreath will be sworn into office.
