All Photos and storyline by Davey Barton
JOHNSTON – Friday afternoon a two vehicle crash occurred just after 5:00 pm Friday afternoon at the intersection of McCrieght Street and Yonce Pond Road just outside the town limits of Johnston. The crash left one woman trapped inside a her Chevrolet S-10 pickup after being struck broadside by a late model Ford F150.

According to information gathered at the scene, the Ford F150 was said to have stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded to enter the intersection not seeing the Chevy S-10 traveling north on McCrieght Street. The two collided and sent the smaller Chevy S-10 facing east on McCrieght Street. The woman was extricated from the truck and taken to MCG for treatment of her injuries. An update on her injuries was not made available.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured and faces possible charges in the crash. Johnston Fire Department, Edgefield County EMS, Edgefield County Deputies, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol personnel worked the scene.

The scene was cleared about an hour later and traffic returned to normal.
