One charged in Johnston knifing

web posted Apri 26, 2006

JOHNSTON – A Johnston man called Police to report that he had been assaulted with a knife late Monday night. When officers arrived at the home on the 500 block of McCreight Street they found the victim with a large laceration to his leg and EMS was summoned to the scene.

The man told police that Lucius Williams Jr., 48, of McCreight Street, was at the home earlier but was “put out” and told not to come back. Mr. Williams, the victim stated, tried to force his way into the house. Later, a second time, he was said to have returned and allegedly produced a knife and cut the victim.

Police located Mr. Williams across the street from the victims home and, according to police reports, he admitted the assault and cutting the victim with a knife. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Edgefield County Detention Center for booking. Mr. Williams was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

The victim was transported to Edgefield County Hospital for treatment of the wound and released later.
