Johnston Police arrived on the scene quickly, but not before one of the men, said to be the aggressor, fled the scene in a white Ford Crown Victoria towards Edgefield. An Edgefield County Deputy spotted the car on Highway 23 and attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver tried to evade the stop and later turned onto Woodyard Road heading towards Trenton. The owner of the barbershop went to the Edgefield County Hospital for treatment on minor injuries received in the altercation. Additional deputies converged on the area and the man was finally stopped just south of Egghouse Road and taken into custody. Jonathan Gilliam, 30, of Johnston is being held on a custody order awaiting formal charges jail records show. A warrant for assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature is said to be in the process of being obtained. Additional charges may also be filed. For
