Edgefield Chamber of Commerce Hosts Breakfast, Auctions Bridgestone
Tire Set
web
posted April 27, 2010
JOHNSTON – Stop by and visit the Edgefield
Chamber of Commerce during the Peach Blossom Festival on Calhoun Street
in Johnston May 1, 2010, for breakfast and a chance to bid on a brand
new set of four Bridgestone tires.
Breakfast is free, but the tires will be sold to the highest bidder.
Those interested will be able to bid on the tires through either a
sealed envelope bidding system, or through a visible silent auction bid
sheet. The highest bidder from the sealed envelopes or silent bid sheet
will be the winner and will be notified following the closing of the
Peach Blossom Festival activities. Ties between the sealed bid and
silent auction will be decided by a “bid off” between the two highest
bidders.
“Bridgestone graciously donated a set of four tires, of the winner’s
choosing, as a fundraiser for the Chamber,” said Donna Livingston,
Edgefield Chamber of Commerce Administrator. “The members of the
Chamber work year round to help raise money to create awareness for our
community and couldn’t operate without the support of corporate friends
like Bridgestone.”
Throughout the year, the Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce strives
to improve the economic status of our communities by promoting quality
and growth of small business, industry and agriculture in an effort to
expand our tax base and create an increase in employment opportunities.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors and business owner members work
diligently to improve the quality of life in Edgefield County to make
this area a more attractive place to work and live. We will stimulate
and encourage participation in cultural activities and effectively
preserve and promote the history of Edgefield County.
“Come join us during the Peach Blossom Festival and see for yourself,”
“We’re here for the community and we want to meet as many of you as
possible,” said Livingston. “Our door is always open.”
Downtown Johnston will be filled with a parade, crafts, games,
displays, concessions, rides and entertainment for the entire family
during the festival. The Peach Blossom Festival dance is on Saturday
night from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. and will feature Fessa John Hook. You
must be 21 years old or older to attend the dance. Tickets will be sold
in advance and at the door.
