Things are looking peachy JOHNSTON – From the looks of several peach orchards, not all is lost for this years peach crop. The late spring freeze early in April had some experts and growers claiming 90% crop loss as most trees were in full bloom or setting fruit. EdgefieldDaily.com took some time to visit several orchards in the Johnston area and found peaches – and lots of them. One of the orchards was photographed in full bloom just before the freeze in preparation for Johnston’s Peach Blossom Festival coverage and others were revisited to examine the damaged crops progress over the past few days. The orchards visited all had bountiful fruit still growing that will not doubt have to be thinned to prevent limb breakage. For
