Johnston man charged in child molestation web posted May 11, 2009 JOHNSTON – A 37-year-old Johnston man has been arrested and charged with an alleged molestation involving a young girl between the ages of 13 and 14 years on Saturday. Gustav Paul Sawvell has been arrested and is currently being held awaiting a bond hearing on the charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 16 years of age, jail officials said Sunday night. Though details of the arrest are limited at this point, Sawvell is accused of molesting the young girl sometime this weekend and after more than five hours of investigation Johnston Police filed formal charges and arrested Sawvell for the crime. The young girl was taken to the Edgefield County Hospital where she was treated and released after reporting the incident on Saturday. Full details of the case are not available at this time. A request for a booking photo of Sawvell was not honored by the Edgefield County Detention Center with jailers stating they did not know how to email the information to a media outlet. © Copyright 2009
