Johnston Police arrest two robbery suspects web posted May 15, 2007 JOHNSTON – Johnston Police have arrested two men suspected of a strong-armed robbery that occurred late Thursday night. The elderly couple reported that a man opened the passenger side door of the car while the husband was sitting in the car and took $400 from the console. The money was from a check that had just been cashed at a store. The man reportedly fled the scene down Addison Street. Officers began searching for the suspect in the area. Other officers reviewed the video surveillance tapes at the location and were able to identify the driver of a vehicle that brought one of the suspects to the store. He was identified as 27-year-old Matthew Padgett of Walker Street and was later found and arrested. His passenger, later identified as Henry Lamond Rhodes, 27, was alleged to be the man that approached the elderly man. He was later located and also arrested. Both men were transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center where they were booked on one charge each of strong-armed robbery. For
