  Johnston woman barricades herself in bedroom during burglary web posted May 26, 2010 JOHNSTON – An Edisto Apartments resident reported two people entering her home on Slide Hill Road during a home invasion shortly after midnight Tuesday that brought Johnston and Edgefield Police as well as Edgefield Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators responding to the call. According to available information, two subjects entered the home causing the woman to lock herself in the bedroom and calling 911. At this time it is unknown what was stolen from the home. A call was placed to page out the Sheriff’s Bloodhound Team in an effort to track the suspects. Area law enforcement set up a perimeter around the Slide Hill Road and Lakeview Road area as well as Ridge Road. Much of the area is covered with wooded or otherwise rural areas that hampered trying to locate the suspects. There were no descriptions of the suspects at the time of this report. An additional call to the Saluda County Sheriff’s Office brought available deputies to the area to aid in the search.
