Police Officer files suit against Town of
Johnston Edgefielddaily.com web posted July 12, 2005 JOHNSTON - Johnston Police Officer David Willis has filed a lawsuit against the Town of Johnston in which Willis alleges the town refused to pay him for overtime that he worked. Mayor Dean Campbell issued a prepared statement which said; “We have followed the letter and spirit of the law since it was implemented in Johnston two decades ago. We will vigorously defend our town and its citizens in this matter. I look forward to our day in court.” Mayor Campbell said that would be the only comment that would be given in the matter. Mr. Willis was unable to be reached for comment. The lawsuit has not been received by Edgefield Daily.com at this writing but we will have a copy of the suit available in tomorrow’s updates.
