Traffic problems to continue during sewer repairs in Johnston web posted July 20, 2007 JOHNSTON – Traffic will continue to be stalled on the 100 block of Calhoun Street until the first of next week. The Edgefield County Sewer and Water Authority is working to clear sewer lines in the area. Flagmen will continue to direct traffic while the construction continues and traffic will be reduced to two staggered lanes. The first problem was thought to be minor and would have affected only one lane of traffic. However, after clearing one blocked line a second blockage was found and both westbound lanes had to be closed. It is unknown if additional work will have to be undertaken. The current work will take at least until Monday to complete and be ready for asphalt. Six inches of concrete has to be poured and cured before the paving can be done. For
