Woman wakes to discover home invasion web posted July 29, 2006 JOHNSTON – A Clark Road woman called 911 to report a home invasion that occurred just before 5 pm Thursday. The woman told dispatchers that she heard a noise and found a man standing in her garage. When the deputy arrived at the residence the woman said she was sleeping and heard a “bump” that woke her up. When she investigated the noise she discovered a man standing in her garage. She stated the man said he knocked on the front door and did not get an answer so he came around to the garage door and entered the garage area of the home. According to the incident report, the woman said the man told her his name. The man appeared to be alone. The woman told police that he was driving a burgundy extended cab pick-up truck and the tailgate was down. The truck was said to be clean but the license plate was very dirty, so much so that she was unable to obtain a tag number. The man was described as a white male with short brown hair approximately 5’ 7” to 5’ 9” tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was said to be wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt and camouflaged pants. The woman stated she would be able to identify the man if she saw him again. The case has been turned over to the investigative division of the Sheriff’s Office for follow-up. The woman’s residence was placed on a list for property checks during patrols. For
