Burglary reported at Johnston store web posted July 29, 2006 JOHNSTON – The owner of the Three Way Food Store on Lee Street reported a burglary to his business just after 6 am Thursday morning after arriving to open the store for the day. When he arrived, he discovered someone had broken out the glass of the right front door with a hammer to gain entry into the business. Johnston Police arrived a short time later and began their investigation. The storeowner told police that the subjects took a large amount of lottery tickets, a money pouch containing $6,121.24.14 cartons of Doral cigarettes, 15 cartons of Newport cigarettes, 16 cartons of Marlboro cigarettes and 2 cartons of Salem cigarettes. A review of the video surveillance taped showed two black males breaking into the store through the front door and taking the lottery tickets, but the two were not seen going behind the counter or taking any cigarettes. The tape was watched from the time of the burglary until the time law enforcement arrived on the scene. The Sheriff’s bloodhounds were brought to the scene to try to track down the two men but were unsuccessful. The case is still under investigation by the Johnston Police. For
