 Vandal pours sugar in gas tank of car web posted July 29, 2006 JOHNSTON – A Johnston woman leaving for work Thursday morning became suspicious when she noticed sugar on the floor of the carport next to her son’s car. When she opened the cover she found sugar around the gas cap and called 911. A Sheriff’s Deputy arrived a few minutes later. The deputy observed the sugar on the concrete floor of the carport and sugar inside the gas tank of the car. The woman stated she purchased the car for her son, and that her son has been having problems with a Merriwether man. The deputy was able to obtain a fingerprint off of the car. Photographs of the scene were also taken. The vehicle, a 2001 Chrysler, was said to be in need of at least $500 in repairs due to the sugar in the gas tank. The case has been forwarded on to investigators. For
