Cash, Property Stolen from Johnston Vehicles

web posted August 12, 2014

JOHNSTON   Johnston Police were called to a home on the 900 block of Calhoun Street early Monday morning with a report of someone entering two vehicles at the home and stealing $500 in cash and $700 worth of property. The homeowner went to answer a service call just after midnight and discovered someone had been in his truck and his son's truck and called police.

The man told police the $500 in his console was from a service call he went on earlier in the night. Also taken was a GPS unit, no name brand or model number was available.

Taken from the son's truck were several Blue-Ray DVDs and a pair of work boots. Clothes that were in the truck were found on the ground and both doors were found open by the owner.

Well over a dozen fingerprints were able to be lifted from the trucks. There were no signs of forced entry into either vehicle.
