JOHNSTON – Around 12:30pm Saturday a white Chrysler Concorde was traveling south on Lee Street when it was broadsided by a westbound small Ford pickup. The impact spun the car around and it ended up in the parking lot of a local business.

The Johnston Fire Department responded to assist EMS Workers freeing the four individuals from the wreckage. Firemen used the Jaws of Life to open the doors so EMS personnel could place the patients on backboards.  The driver of the pickup was not injured and his vehicle suffered minimal damage to the front end.

Johnston Police Chief Easler was on the scene and stated they were still investigating the incident but the driver of the truck was going to be cited as being at fault, “We’re going to wait until Monday to issue charges,” he said adding they were going to see how serious the injuries are first.

The four occupants of the Chrysler were transported to MCG for treatment. Their condition was unavailable.
