Local media to pose questions to Senate candidates at Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce sponsored forum web posted August 21, 2007 JOHNSTON – The Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a public forum to hear from the candidates for the upcoming Republican primary for the District 25 Senate seat. The event will be set in a format of candidates answering questions posed to them by a panel chosen from the local media. The forum will be held at the Strom Thurmond High School Cafeteria on Thursday, August 30, at 7:30 pm and the public is invited to attend. The primary election will be held September 18. With a six-candidate field most are expecting a run-off, which would be held on October 2. The winner of the Republican primary will face Democratic candidate Bill Clyburn in the General Election in November. Rep. Clyburn is unopposed in the primary.
