Teacher, Citizen of the Year Banquet draws near – Citizen of the Year nominations still open

web posted August 21, 2007
JOHNSTON – Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce and the Edgefield County School District Invite you to our 4th Annual Celebration of Success Banquet where we honor our Citizen of the Year and Teachers of the Year.  The event will be held at Pine Ridge Plantation on September 4th, beginning with a social time at 6:30 PM, with dinner to follow at 7:00 PM.  Cost for this event will be $25.00 per person.

First Citizens Bank of Johnston and Trenton will again sponsor the Teachers of the Year from each school. These teachers chosen by their fellow coworkers will receive a monetary award from First Citizens Bank. The Edgefield County School District will recognize the School District’s Teacher of the Year from these recipients.

The Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce will recognize our Citizen of the Year.  Nominations received from the general public and the Chamber membership will be studied by a group of past winners of this award, to select the Citizen of the Year.

Nominations are still being accepted for this award for anyone with good leadership skills, community service role model, volunteer work, and many other characteristics.  The only stipulation is this candidate must live in Edgefield County. Nomination forms are available at the Chamber or you can write your own with these qualifications along with why you consider this nominee an outstanding candidate for the Edgefield County Citizen of the Year? Your nomination needs to be submitted to the Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce by August 27th.

Deadline to purchase your banquet ticket is Wednesday, August 29, 2007. For more information contact Chamber Administrator Donna Livingston at 275-0010 or email info@edgefieldcountychamber.org
