Hit and run vehicle found with topless woman sleeping in back seat web posted August 29, 2006 JOHNSTON – Saturday night a Johnston man called police due to a hit and run that occurred just after 7 p.m. in downtown Johnston. When an officer arrived, the man told the officer that as he was approaching the intersection of Highways 121 and 23 when a red Dodge Durango was backing out of a parking place in front of a Mexican restaurant. The man stated he stopped to allow the SUV to back out. However, the vehicle continued to back up and struck the front of the man’s car. The man stated to police that a man got out of the Durango, “staggered around,” looked at the damage, and then got back in the SUV and drove away. There was minor damage done to the front of the car, but the man informed the officer he was more concerned that there was a “drunk driver on the street,” the report states. The suspect vehicle was placed on a B.O.L.O. (be on the look out) in an attempt to find the driver. Just after 9 p.m. the officer spotted the Dodge Durango on the 700 block of Highway 121 at a local store. As he approached the vehicle, he noticed a woman lying in the back seat with no shirt on, the report states. The officer woke the woman up and noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the inside of the vehicle. The woman admitted to the officer that she had been drinking and knew she, “had too much to be driving,” and that was why she pulled over at the store to sleep, the report said. Inside the vehicle were several open beers and an open bottle of vodka in the passenger seat. At that time the woman, Erica Timms Lagrone, 31, of Trenton, was placed under arrest for an ABC violation and an open container. She was transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center for booking and the vehicle was towed. There was no identification of the male driver that struck the car earlier in the night. For
