  Johnston Police seek “armed and dangerous” suspect web posted September 11, 2009  JOHNSTON – The
Johnston Police Department
is seeking Christopher Dale Jones, 34, of Johnston, in connection to a
shooting incident in late August. Johnston Investigator Lamaz Robinson
said Jones should be considered armed and dangerous. Jones is wanted
for assault and battery with the intent to kill and other weapons
charges relating to the shooting.According to an earlier report, the shooting incident took place Saturday, August 29, near the popular John’s Club on Addison Street when a woman called police just after 1 am claiming an intoxicated man she approached pulled a handgun, pointed it in her chest, then backed up a few feet and fired three shots into the air. Inv. Robinson said they later identified Jones as the suspect and issued warrants for his arrest. “We haven’t been able to locate him,” Robinson said which prompted the call to local media to get his name, picture, and information out to the public. Jones is described as a black male standing 5’ 8” tall and weighing 180 pounds. Anyone with information to Jones’ whereabouts is asked to call 911, the Johnston Police Department at 803-275-2488, or the Edgefield Sheriff’s Office at 803-637-5337.
