They're Back… Hilltop Horror Returns in October
web posted September 12, 2012
JOHNSTON – After taking a year off, the
organizers of the Hilltop Horror House are back at work and will be
open for business every weekend in October. In 2010 the group, mostly
law enforcement officers, started the haunted house to raise money for
a fellow officer's daughter injured in a tragic car crash. Little did
they know that it would be one of the most sought out haunted houses in
the CSRA. This year they have returned with a new charity, and an even
more frightening adventure for thrill seekers.
The 20,000 foot location is currently being refurbished with more scare
rooms and the tour through the frightening maze is expected to be at
least 25 minutes.
The Hilltop Horror Haunted House will be open from 8 pm until the “last
person is terrified” every weekend in October on Friday and Saturday
nights. They will also be open on Halloween night, October 31.
Tickets are $12 per person, but a donation of a canned good will reduce
the price to $10 with food donations going to the Golden Harvest Food
Bank. Some of the proceeds will also be given to the Eureka Fire
Department.
Construction on the haunted house got underway this week and should be
completed by next week, William Lott, one of the organizers said. There
was a consideration to move the location, but since it was so widely
known they were able to retain the same property this year.
