Mammoth move delayed: Arrival in Johnston expected Late Friday or early Saturday

web posted September 25, 2009
JOHNSTON – The move of the mammoth sized generator that will be entering Edgefield County on Highway 191 is running behind schedule, according to reports. If the slowed progress continues the transport crew will not make it to the intersection of Highways 191 and 121 until Saturday.

The reason for the delay was not available Thursday evening; however, it has reportedly placed the arrival of the convoy into Edgefield County back until late Friday night or early Saturday.

EdgefieldDaily.com will be traveling the route on Friday to record the history making transport’s progress.

If the current plans continue, the generator will be staged in Johnston on Saturday rather than Friday evening and would then depart in the early morning hours of Sunday.
