  Police seize SUV in drug arrest web posted September 30, 2008 JOHNSTON – As Johnston Police and the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a warrant sweep last Thursday, a suspicious SUV caught their attention as the vehicle began backing up on Slide Hill Road. Police took notice of the SUV and stopped the driver for improper backing and a window tint violation. That traffic stop led to two arrests and the seizure of the vehicle when 11 grams of crack cocaine was discovered inside. According to Police Reports, officers asked the driver, 24-year-old Delphia Turner, of Greenwood if there was anything illegal inside of the vehicle. “She stated no”, reports indicate. When officers asked if they could take a look inside Turner is said to have looked at her passenger, 28-year-old, Horace Kenneth Graham, also of Greenwood, and stated that she would not allow a search. Officers ran the information on Graham and found that there were outstanding warrants for his arrest for drug charges in Johnston. After the arrest of Graham a search of the SUV found an open container of “Absolute Peach” Vodka and 11 grams of crack cocaine, reports state. Ms. Turner was charged with improper backing, a window tint violation, and for having an open container of alcohol. The vehicle was impounded and the drugs were confiscated. According to police reports, this is Mr. Graham’s second charge for trafficking in cocaine. No trial date was provided. ©
