Edgefield man reports non-delivery of illegal drugs to police

web posted October 14, 2009
JOHNSTON – An Edgefield man called Johnston Police to report not receiving marijuana he paid for and the man he gave the money to refused to give the money back and never delivered the drugs. The alleged incident took place on Addison Street in Johnston at 2:30 am Friday morning.

The Edgefield man claimed he gave the Johnston man $27 to take him home and return with a “nickel sack of marijuana” but never returned. The “victim” then went to the home of the suspect, but he was not home, so the Edgefield man called police.

Police spoke to the 25-year-old suspect later at his home and was given $20, said to be all the money received from the Edgefield man. It was taken into custody and held at the Police Department to be given back to the Edgefield man who reported being ripped off in a drug deal.

The matter was labeled as a civil matter between the two men.
