Johnston man faces second round of charges over pit bulls
web posted November 18, 2005

JOHNSTON – A Johnston man who was found guilty on August 1, 2005 of abusing his two pit bulls has been arrested again, this time for possessing dangerous animals. Stepfon Andjuan Bush, 22, of Edisto St Johnston was arrested November 12 by Johnston Police.

Neighbors complained to police about the dogs being overly vicious and not being kept in a safe pen. They told police they were afraid to go outside in fear of being attacked. Officer David Willis of the Johnston Police Department stated in reports that the dogs were very aggressive towards him as he took photo’s of the dogs from across the property. In addition to the arrest Mr. Bush was given warnings for not having the property liability insurance needed to keep dangerous animals.

Mr. Bush was accused of abusing his two pit bulls by tying large chains and heavy weight to their necks in July. Edgefield County Chief Investigator Randy Doran prosecuted the case in front of a jury in Magistrate’s Court in August. The jury returned a guilty verdict and Mr. Bush was fined $1,025.

Mr. Bush will face trial on the latest charges next month.
