Thieves Target House and Vehicle

JOHNSTON A Johnston couple returned to their Old Plank Road home to find the man's truck had been broken into as well as the home burglarized and called 911. Deputies arrived a short time later and began securing evidence and gathering information on the missing items which totaled over $2,600 in value.

According to an incident report, the mans Dodge Ram pickup was left unlocked and the person or persons removed a 500 watt Rockford amp, black and silver in color, as well as a 4-foot speaker box with two 15 inch subwoofers (1 Kicker and 1 Pioneer). They were valued at a total of $1,180.

The person or persons then were able to enter the home through an unlocked door a went to the bedroom and stole a set of "floating opal earrings" and necklace from one jewelry box and a set of white gold "snowflake" diamond earrings from another jewelry box in the same room. The jewelry was valued at a total of $1,500.

The couple did not report finding anything else missing at the time of the report.

All information and evidence has been turned over to the Sheriff's Criminal Investigative Division for further investigation.
