Johnston Church Targeted in Unsuccessful Burglary

web posted December 10, 2013

JOHNSTON The Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church members called Johnston Police Sunday after finding the Fellowship Hall being broken into and two air conditioners ripped from the walls. One of the members told police he was at the church on Thursday afternoon and everything was in order.

When the officer arrived he observed one of the air conditioning units removed from the wall and sitting on the floor. The second unit was partially removed and found "hanging from the wall", an incident report states.

A brown glove was recovered at the scene and taken in as evidence. After processing the scene, fingerprints were also recovered. There was no reported forced entry into the building noted.

A water pipe beside the back door, believed to be the entry point, had also been broken.

After the scene was processed church members were allowed to reinstall the air conditioning units to their rightful place. No other items were reported missing.
