Johnston Firemen called to fire alarm
web posted December 30, 2005

JOHNSTON – Johnston Firemen were dispatched to a fire alarm from a home on the 90 block of Calhoun Street around 12:30 pm Thursday. Firemen were on the scene in a matter of three minutes.

Firemen and Johnston Police walked to perimeter of the home feeling windows as the fire alarm was going off inside. Finally an open window was found and with the use of a pry bar firemen were able to gain entry into the home. After several minutes of searching the home to be sure there was no fire the firemen shut off the alarm and tried to make contact with the owner.

It appeared the owner was out of town so police and firemen secured the home and returned to the station. Firemen stated it was just probably a faulty fire alarm that sent firemen racing to the scene.
