Letter of Thanks from Melba Key
web posted January 20, 2006 Dear Editor, There are so many people I need to thank for calls, cards, words of encouragement and prayers, during the disappearance of my husband, Marion Key. This is the only way I could reach them all. I thank God for all of them and asked him to bless them in a special way for all they did to help me through a very difficult time. I Want To Thank: God and my children who gave me my strength to do what I had to do. My wonderful brother inlaw & sister in law and Cedar Grove Baptist Church for calls, words of encouragement, money to help me out, but most of all their prayers. Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, Bible Baptist Church and all the churches in the area that prayed or came by to give me strength and encouragement. Edgefield County, Aiken County, S.C. Highway Patrol, and N. Augusta Law Enforcement that searched and came by to encourage me. The off duty officers that volunteered their time, the Merriwether Fire Dept. The Merriwether Community and men from Big Stevens Creek Baptist and Wal-Mart employees that all joined in the searches. Wal-Mart Management Scott Pfeffer, Scott Grissall & his wife. Jimmy Clark, Philip Harley, Daniel Sankey, Bill and Susan Shiver and all the other managers, for their support, prayers, and for organizing and helping to search. All the wonderful associates for hugs, words of encouragement and their prayers and asked their churches to pray. People Who Brought Food – Jerry Bass from Old MacDonald Fish Camp, Christy Compton, Angel and Diane, Jo Whitson, Sportsman’s Corner Barbecue, Mrs. Eula Sanders, Charles and Alice Thompson, Ms. Ledford, Kaye, Jaquetta and Theresa, Daniel Sankey, Susan and Bill Shiver, Lou Reynolds, Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, Theresa Robinson, Eva Thompson, George and Carolyn Bryant, Joseph Brown, J.B. Moore, Sub Terminal and Wal-Mart. People Who Donated Flyers- Pheonix Commercial Printing, Gary Raborn, Nina Griners, Brian Mealing, Robert Key and Domino’s Pizza, Ben Arnold and Southern Drivers and Fans at Modoc Speedway and Wal-Mart. Specials thanks to all of the people who helped us distribute the flyers and the businesses that put the fliers in their windows. Chuck Reinert for using his personal plane to search for the car. My sisters in Harmony The Harmony River Chorus and all the calls, cards, food, flowers, words of encouragement, hugs and e-mails. The hundreds of family, friends and people I didn’t know that called to make sure I was alright and see if I needed anything. The wonderful press, Chip Creamer, Chase Cain, Amy Cowman, Karen Daily and others, that kept the story going so people would continue to search or look on their way to work. Roy Blackwell (EdgefieldDaily.com) who has continued to keep the story going, brought food, took pictures, ran errands and anything else that we needed, as well as the words of encouragement and prayers. A special thanks to Sheriff Adell Dobey, Lt. Randy Doran, Inv. Philip Ireland, Chris Ashton and Robin Newton and all of the Edgefield County Officers that stopped by to check on me and let me know we were in their prayers. And the list goes on. I know I haven’t listed all the people that helped me, but you know who you are and thank you very much. I wouldn’t have been able to go on without the support. Thank you, Melba Key and Family Merriwether For
