Letter to the Editor
Writer is "blessed to have Dean Campbell as our Mayor" web posted March 16, 2006 Dear Editor, We in the town of Johnston are blessed to have Dean Campbell as our Mayor and it is my fervent hope that the citizenry will vote to retain his services in the upcoming election. Having lived in a few small towns, I've witnessed the chaos that can result when local government is run by personal-agenda driven leadership. While I don't know Dean's opponent, I do know Dean. And I have watched for years as he has unselfishly targeted his efforts to the best interests of the town of Johnston as a whole rather than to the needs or wishes of the vocal or powerful few. Dean has invested much time and effort in developing improvements in public works and recreation facilities for our town, such as the Watson Park Complex, the Tupper Johnson Municipal Annex, and the Waterworks Park. And I would hope that the voters will give him a mandate to see these and his many other projects to fruition. I therefore heartily and without reservation recommend the reelection of Dean Campbell as Mayor of Johnston on April 4th. Roger Lamb Johnston For
