Letter to the Editor

Writer supports Dea Baldwin for SC House

web posted May 20, 2010
Dear editor,
I was excited to learn that Dea Baldwin is running for the SC House District 83 seat, the seat that is being vacated by Don Smith. In the 15 years that I have known Dea, I have been very impressed with her determination to make our community a better place.  She is not satisfied with the status quo nor is she willing to just complain.

She is very good at seeing areas that need improvement, evaluating the possible solutions, networking with persons in positions of authority, and working hard for change.  In doing so, Dea has had many experiences and held positions that will serve her well in Columbia.

For example, Dea chairs a 52-member advisory council to the SC State Department of Education which provides guidance on education programs and services for students with disabilities. Dea is not a politician. She is a concerned citizen who is very bright, inquisitive and energetic. She is a strong Christian lady who has high morals and a servant’s attitude.

She is running for the House seat because she wants to improve this great state of ours and has the energy to make that happen. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Dea in the Republican primary on June 8th. You can learn more about Dea from her website at http://www.electdeabaldwin.com.
