Singletary explains billion dollar lawsuit, names additional defendants
posted May 27, 2009
Tell the truth and shame the devil! I've asked the editor to write my
words and not that of his or the words of other reporters that I feel
he receives his additional information resources. I originally filed my
lawsuit because living in this town is like living in a warped time
zone. In Edgefield, time has just stopped and instead of going forward.
This back in the time undercover redneck town, it goes backward!
Edgefield is a town where African Americans are unaware; they have
equal and the same legal rights as whites!
I was stopped on several occasions by Edgefield Police and gave the
officer my I.D. but I was still referred to as "Boy." I knew I was at
least 10-15 years older than the officers and don't assume they was
telling me how good I look. Secondly, African Americans are singled out
in Edgefield by the Police Department at public places like gas
stations, phone booths, laundry marts and simply just walking down the
street. I use to highly respect Chief Carter, but I've lost that
respect for him because he doesn't give me the respect I give him. I
feel he covers up the inappropriate behaviors of his white officers and
excuses their actions.
That's why I've asked Captain Paul Grant of Sled to investigate the
police department and the sheriff's department and because they haven't
done it as of yet. I've amended my Civil Suite again to include Sled.
The reasoning being their allowance of officers in the state of South
Carolina to discriminate against African Americans and all minority's
in the south without investigation or enquiry.
African Americans have limited to no recreational resources in
Edgefield but whites have multi resources. The one thing African
Americans had: the Basketball Court. The Police closed it down. It
wasn't to all the parents got upset and protested the action, did it
get reopened. The Police excuse was drug trafficking. There are drugs
on the soccer field, baseball field and the tennis court, but they
didn't shut that down.
Three I don't understand why African Americans except being treated
like Illegal aliens in Edgefield. When it was the white man ancestors
that kidnapped ours and brought us to this country.
Fourth, I was arrested in Augusta, Ga., April 1, 2009 for disorderly
conduct. I was arrested for who I was, not anything I did wrong. The
officers knew my name and about my suite here in Edgefield. I was
arrested because I asked her name and asked her to call for her
supervisor. The deputy name is Cindy Fulcher and Sylvester Rosier was
the one that pulled me on the side of the cruiser out of the sight of
the car camera and beat me to a pulp then acted innocent like he did
nothing wrong. I filed a complaint with their internal affairs and plan
to sue them also.
I was told that I'm ignorant, but I think all those that say that don't
know the meaning. Ignorance-noun-The condition of being uneducated,
unaware, or uninformed. I feel that anyone that feel that way is just
that because I was smart enough to look up how to sue Edgefield, type,
process and pay to have justice come to this in the closet town. As far
as all the defendants are concern. The Lord said: BEWARE OF THOSE IN
SHEEP CLOTHING, FOR THERE ARE RAVAGING WOLVES. At the end, I don't care
what anyone thinks about me because at the end all my bills are still
paid. God Bless!!
Editor's note: Mr. Singletary has filed a $1 billion
lawsuit naming a growing number of law enforcement officers,
officials, and agencies.
