Writer asks others to support Baldwin for House 83 Seat
web
posted May 29, 2010
Dear Editor,
I wish to add my voice to those who have expressed support for Dea
Baldwin, Republican candidate for the South Carolina House District
83. Others have highlighted Dea’s education, achievements, and
involvement as qualifications for the office she seeks. I want to
share my perception of Dea’s character and why she has earned my trust
and my vote.
My experiences with Dea include PTA at Hammond Hill Elementary, School
Improvement Council at Paul Knox and many seasons as a fellow
soccer/swim team/tennis mom. As our children have grown up
together, Dea and I have shared many tasks in supporting their academic
and athletic endeavors.
The thing that to me sets Dea apart is that she is a woman of
prayer. Dea was instrumental in beginning a Moms In Touch group
(a group of moms who meet weekly for one hour to pray for our children
and their schools) for Hammond Hill when our children were in first
grade. She has continued to be active with Moms In Touch through
the middle and high school years. Last fall as our “babies”
entered college, Dea organized a Moms In Touch group for moms of
college students.
I have complete confidence in Dea to do the right thing for our
citizens because I know firsthand that her first instinct is to bring
every issue and decision before God and then to listen for His
answer. Dea has a pure heart and pure motives. I wouldn’t
dream of voting for anyone else on June 8th. Won’t you join me?
